Question:
How does Organocide work? Answer: Dense oil spray smothers target insects on contact and is insecticidal to the eggs, larvae, nymphs and adults of target insects. Once liquid dries, a micro-film is left on the plant. Any hatchlings of the target insects get trapped in the film and die. Females arriving after treatment detect the film, recognizing the area is hazardous to their eggs, and will not lay eggs on the treated plant. The fatty acids in the oil are toxic to the target insects. Question:
What insects will Organocide control? Answer: Organocide kills the eggs, larvae, nymphs and adults of small, soft bodied insects and scale insects (armored and soft scales) such as mites, aphids, fungus gnats, chinch bugs, mealy bugs, leaf rollers, leaf miner, thrips, *fleas and **whiteflies. *Organocide will kill the eggs and larvae of fleas, but will not kill the adults - try a natural pyrethrin. **Whiteflies are the most difficult insect to control because it has such a short life span and repopulates very quickly. Organocide will kill them when sprayed directly on contact but will not prevent them from coming back if left on the leaves. Question:
Will Organocide harm bees or ladybugs? Answer: Organocide is not harmful to beneficial or large insects such as bees, beetles, lady bugs or worms. Question:
What diseases will Organocide control? Answer: Organocide effectively prevents and cures foliar diseases which thrive in moisture rich environments such as powdery mildew, black spots on roses, greasy spots and helminthesporium. Question:
What about Organocide's plant compatibility? Answer: Very few plants have adverse reactions to Organocide. Plants in the Euphorbia family such as crown of thorns and poinsettias have shown some sensitivity and some hibiscus plants have dropped some blooms after being treated with Organocide, but no permanent plant damage has been observed. Question:
When should Organocide be applied? Answer: Organocide can be applied at any time under most any conditions. When applied as directed, there is very little risk of leaf burn when applied to plants, even on hot, sunny days. Question:
How often should Organocide be applied? Answer: For tough scale insects, a once a week application of Organocide for 3 weeks should effectively eliminate the scale. For all other insects, in general, one application will usually control the problem with monthly maintenance. Question: Is Organocide effective after rain? Answer: Yes, Organocide is effective after rain as long as the application has had a minimum of 3 hours to dry. Question: Does Organocide expire? Answer: There is no defined shelf life for Organocide and it will last for many years. It will be necessary to shake well after it has been stored properly. Question: When can edible plants be harvested after Organocide is sprayed? Answer: There is no re-entry time after application and plants can be harvested right after a spray. Organocide is made up of all food-grade oils. Question: How can I remove a stain Organocide left on my concrete? Answer: A citrus-based cleaner is recommended for cleaning up spills. Question: What should I know about organic lawn care products? Answer: Every day, more and more consumers make the decision to switch to organic products.
